My Philosophy
My goal is to get you amazing photos. Coming from an
acting background, I know how important it is to feel great when you’re
shooting. As a result, I try to make the session as fun and as painless
as possible. You have the options of shooting studio and/or outdoors with
all natural light. And the picture should look like YOU! If you are
looking to do some character shots, be specific! I want you to
walk into the casting office and have the CD say, “Yes! This is
exactly who I called in!”. If you want to try some ideas, locations,
costumes, anything, let’s do it! I love working with people to create an
environment that is enjoyable and at the same time, gets excellent
results!
A
little about your photographer
Biz Urban was born and
raised in Columbus, Ohio and received a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts
from Miami University. After moving to Los Angeles several years
ago, she worked tirelessly in the acting
industry and discovered her love of photography was equally as
gratifying as her time in front of the camera! After several years
working with clients from actors to authors to parties for weddings,
birthdays and even the company Hawaiian Tropic, she decided to bring her
work back to the East Coast! Here's her thoughts on getting a
great photo shoot: "I understand what you go through (emotionally
and financially) to get the elusive awesome shot. Agents and
managers have sent me their clients again and again, because they trust
that they are going to get great shots and their clients aren’t going
to break their bank. And I like that. You shouldn’t have
to sell your priceless collection of limited edition Elvis Presley
velvet paintings to get great shots. You might be a banker on Wall
Street, a realtor on the UWS, or a Romance novelist, but in essence a
‘headshot’ is just the representation of the amazing person you want
to introduce to the world. Let's shoot and find that person!"
What you’re gonna get
Within 24 hours you will get a weblink to your best
200-250 images to show your agents, managers, PR rep, family and friends!
After the shoot, if you’d like to know what were my favorite shots, I will
gladly let you know, just give me a week and I will get them to you! After you let me know
which twenty images you’d like in high resolution I will make a CD of
those photos for you to pick up! If you know which ones you’d like
retouched at that point, give me a few days and I’ll add those to the CD
too!
Hair/Makeup
If you need an excellent hair or makeup artist, I can
recommend a few! It is recommended for women but if it isn’t in your
budget, do your own. I’ll keep an eye out for anything amiss, you will
look great! Men, if you need to shave half way through, just let me know
in advance!
Let’s Party!
I also shoot events (check out my Groups page) – your
niece’s rodeo themed 6th birthday party, that corporate
luncheon where everyone had to dress up as their favorite character from
Star Wars, and weddings (especially ones that take place on any kind of
beach, I’m a big fan of the destination wedding. And warm weather).
